Looks like I spoke too soon about the CNY beer! Before dumping it, I gave samples out to family and visiting relatives, and it was very oddly well-received. Looks like I'll be salvaging this batch after all! And it goes to show that sometimes, what we feel is a great beer may not be perceived as such by the general public; and conversely, even the most out-of-style/balance beer may surprisingly be well-accepted at times.
