Dealing with condensation

This idea didn't come from me, but it makes such good sense I figured I'd share it!

Condensation in our chest freezers/keezers/kegerators can be quite a problem, especially in our humid climate. Every month or so I'd accumulate a small puddle in my fermentation fridge which needs to be mopped up. I tried purchasing one of those Thirsty Hippo type of closet dehumidifier, but they hardly lasted a week! Here's a much cheaper source of these silica gel based absorbers - kitty litter!

They're essentially the same thing, but are waaaaaay cheaper and in bulk too! I got this 5L bag at a large pet store for less than $10 (and if you buy 6 bags, you get another 3 free ...). This packaging also has a nifty 'handle' built into the bag, so I cut a large hole at the top. Once it's spent and soggy, just lift the entire bag out by the handle and discard.
